Weekend Teams

The Big One is officially upon us – the 1st XV versus Watsonians at Myreside, with the winner earning a playoff for promotion to the top flight!

The 1st XV will line up as follows:

15 – Mike Hanning
14  – Matt Morrell
13  – Dave Hampton
12  – Neil Bowie
11  – Alan Whittingham
10  – Nick McCashin
  9 – Fraser Strachan

  1 – Willie Aitken
  2 – Nick Hart
  3 – Conor MacKay
  4 – Scott Brewster
  5 – Fraser Morrison
  6 – Ben Wilson
  7 – Stuart Wilson
  8 – Adam Howie

16 – Ruaridh Stewart
17 – Ross Anderson
18 – Jon Hamblin
19 – Chris Beatie
20 – Seb Trotter

We’re four points ahead of our hosts, who have much better points difference than us. If we win, draw or lose with a bonus point, we go through to the playoff; if Watsonians win and we don’t get a bonus point, they go through.

Exciting stuff – please make your way to Myreside for 3 pm to cheer the boys to the playoff! This will help to get you in the mood …

Better still, get to Myreside for 2.30 pm, when our P7 team will take on their GWC equivalents as a curtain raiser for the 1st XV clash. Make some noise for the future of the club!

Both the 2s and 3s are also in action, the 2s welcoming Melrose to Inverleith (11.30 am) and the 3s playing Watsonians at Myreside (3 pm). The 3s were due to play Accies in a league game, but they have pulled out of the fixture, so Ric’s Raiders are now playing a short friendly (30 minute halves) against ‘Sonians then heading over the road to watch the end of the 1st XV game.

The 2s will line up as follows:

 15 – Toby Buchanan
14 – Jason Carpenter
13 – Jordan Kynoch
12 – Andy Bryce
11 – Dan Anderson
10 – Euan Bowen
  9 – Euan Millar

  1 – Ric Clark
  2 – Gordon Campbell
  3 – Martin Kemp
  4 – Ally Scott
  5 – Matt Hutcheson
  6 – Scott McColl
  7 – Scott Cubitt
  8 – Denis Pech

16 – Lindsay Ross
17 – Nick McGlinchey
18 – Euan Wallace
19 – Jordan Welsh
20 – Hayden Lingard

See you pitchside!

Bill
