Weekend Results

Another pretty decent weekend for the Club, with wins for 1st and 2nd XVs and a narrow defeat for the Mighty 3s.

The 1st XV were 8-0 up against a stuffy Whitecraigs side at half time, our points coming from a try by Andy Hughes and a penalty from Seb. Tries from Seb and new boy Ethan after the break saw us ease into a 20-0 lead, but our determination to secure the four-try bonus point then opened up some defensive gaps that allowed Whitecraigs to score two late tries (one a penalty try). We held on, though, and remain top of Premier 2 by 2 points.

The 2nd XV recorded a fine 22-6 victory over Watsonians at Myreside. This leaves them top of Reserve League National 1 by three points, with Stirling County leading the chasing pack.

The Mighty 3s enjoyed the majority of the possession against Edinburgh University at Peffermill, but a combination of poor goalkicking  and stoic student defence saw our hosts edge the game 7-0.

The fact that one G. Sharp started on the wing for the 3s has got absolutely nothing to do with their first defeat of the season, obviously!

Reports on all of these games will appear on the site over the course of the week.
