Weekend Results

Not a great weekend for the club, with the 2nd XV the only one of our teams to claim a victory at Inverleith.

The 1st XV lost 32-23 to a useful Selkirk team on Pitch 1, despite having led 23-22 at the start of the second half.  Unconverted tries from Borth and Liam, plus two penalties from Mike Hanning, saw us trail 22-16 at half time, then a converted try from Hayden saw us edge ahead.

We fought bravely in the second half, but were unable to overcome the tigerish Souter defence. Selkirk kicked well, dominated the breakdown as only Borders clubs can do, and, generally, were well worth the win.

We did, however, score three fine backs tries, and also defended resolutely throughout the game. Onwards and upwards for our trip to Hawick next week!

The 2s recorded a fine 45-20 victory over Selkirk A on Pitch 2, and now sit fourth in their league.

The 3s lost to a strong Heriot’s side – don’t have a score for that one yet, but gather it was fairly heavily in the Nails’ favour.
