The best Saturday of the season so far for the club, with both 1st and 2nd XVs recording much needed victories at Inverleith.
The 1st XV went 10 nil down in the first half against Kelso, but hit back with a penalty, try and conversion by Mike Hanning. That tied the scores at half time, then, after the break, we hit a purple patch that saw tries from Niall Shannon, debutant Sharron Durrant and Borth. Those were all converted by Mike to take the score to 31-10.
Further tries from Hayden and Matt Hannay, together with three to the visitors, left the final score at 43-31 in our favour.
Borth’s try was his 75th for the club, in his 200th game for the 1st XV, and took his personal points tally to 707. Congratulations to him on hitting those milestones!
The bonus point win lifted us to 7th in the league, one point ahead of Hamilton who we play at Laigh Bent next Saturday.
The 2nd XV recorded a fine 38-27 victory over Currie.
