Teams for Saturday 29th October

The 1st XV head to Myreside this week in what might appear, on the face of it, to be a bit of a dead rubber for us, having already qualified for the playoffs. We are, however, determined to maintain our unbeaten record and test ourselves against one of the teams we may well be facing in those playoffs.

The team is as follows:

15 – Mike Hanning
14 – Richard Borthwick
13 – Scott Riddell
12 – Hayden Lingard
11 – Matt Hannay
10 – Kaide Whiting
  9 – Rob Patterson

  1 – Willie Aitken
  2 – Angus Dixon
  3 – Reece O’Leary
  4 – Fraser Morrison
  5 – Scott Brewster (c)
  6 – Phil Hendry
  7 – Donald Sangster
  8 – Joni Hare

16 – Ethan Brown
17 – Adam Howie
18 – Angus Lean
19 – Neil Bowie

Kaide hails from New Zealand, and has recently joined us to provide half back cover – will get his Player Profile on the site ASAP so you can read all about him!

Roddy Mackenzie drops out due to injury this week, while Mark Wilson is away; they are replaced by Angus Dixon and Fraser Morrison, respectively.

This will be Scott Brewster’s 100th game for the 1st XV – congratulations to him on reaching this milestone. Will let El Presidente reveal Scott’s career stats at the appropriate moment!

The 2s welcome Hillhead Jordanhill to Inverleith, and will line up as follows:

15 – Stephen Macdonald
14 – Adam Broatch
13 – Christy O’Donnell
12 – Mike Hooks
11 – Joe Parvin
10 – Jamie Zegleman
  9 – Stu Ker

  1 – Ali Baxter
  2 – Dylan Lindsay
  3 – Andy Statham
  4 – Ben Leathes
  5 – Stuart MacDonald
  6 – Dan Gilmour
  7 – Andy Fraser
  8 – Gav Black

16 – Nick Whittle
17 – Fergus Lamont
18 – Stevie Sims
19 – Jordan Kynoch

The game of the day is, arguably, taking place in Stockbridge, where the Mighty Threes are taking on their Accies counterparts. With Accies allegedly mustering something of an All Stars team for this clash, we are understandably keeping our lineup under wraps until the last minute (Stu Thom is still looking for players, in other words!)
