25th
Anniversary of the Clubhouse (15/6/09)
The clubhouse at Inverleith is 25 years old in 2009.

the Associated Clubs, who have a remit to entertain!

support the Sports day, and perhaps relive old memories
of your own efforts in bygone years. The School Sports

race.
10.00 am 2.30 pm: Tea, coffee, soup, sandwiches

is for everyone. The sporting activities have been organised
to encourage team participation anyone can enter
a team of 4 people.
Teams can be made up of families, mums and dads, children
- in fact, anyone!
The P5s and the FP clubs are each holding a 5 a side
knockout football tournament in the morning, on the
back pitches, and the main activities are on Pitch 1.
Pitch 1 will be set up with a range of different activities.
Each activity will be supervised by one of the FP clubs.
For example, there will be games such as throwing the welly,

Festival
Fireworks at Inverleith (3/8/09)

The rugby club will once again be hosting a fireworks evening
at Inverleith to coincide with the Festival Fireworks at
the Castle.
The date this year is Sunday the 6th of September. The
cost is £6 per person, for which you will get entry,
food (stovies) at 8 pm and arguably the best vantage point
in the city.
Doors will open at 7 pm, the fireworks will begin at 9
pm and the bar will be open until 11 pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend - players, WAGS, friends
and family. This was a very popular event last year, and
it would be great to see another healthy attendance to kick
off this season's social programme.
Numbers are limited - all of the other FP Sports clubs
have been invited to attend this year - so please let me
know ASAP how many tickets you would like (just call or
text me on 07896 689215).
The gates of Inverleith will also be locked at 8 pm this
year to prevent 'randoms' sneaking in, so please ensure
you have a ticket if you're planning to come along!

Rugby
Club Ball 2009 (9/10/09)

Following the success of last year's event, the Rugby Club
will once again be staging a Ball at The Edinburgh Corn
Exchange.
This year's Ball will take place on Saturday 24th October,
kicking off at 7 pm for 7.30 pm
As with last year, it will be a black tie event.
Tickets for the Ball are again priced at £37.50 per
person and include a three-course meal with coffee, a half
bottle of wine per person and a disco. Tables will be for
a maximum of 10 people and cost £375 per table.
The Ball is open to all members of the Club and their guests,
and it would be fantastic to see as wide a spectrum of Club
members present as possible.
Please contact me via phone (07939 052245) or email
(link below) as soon as possible to reserve your
tickets. Last date for booking places is Thursday 15th October
2009, and payment should accompany the booking. If payment
is not received by 15th October, then no places will be
booked.
Please note that this is the same day as the Stewart's
Melville vs Heriot's game at Goldenacre, so a big support
at both events would be great.
