Match Report
Dreadful conditions and an understrength team
were no excuse for the poor quality rugby on display at
the Muirs. We still had enough good players who should have
realised it was a day for short passes and strong support
play. In the first half we insisted on long passes, and
these invariably resulted in scrums to the opposition. We
did, however, out scrummage Kinross all day, and Stew H
took at least a couple against the head. I understand the
Kinross scrum half was a very honest chap!
Shagger won another toss, which was crucial as it meant
we played with the wind and the sun at our backs for the
first half. We were able to build up a decent lead through
tries by myself, Marsh, Danger and Shaft.
The second half saw Kinross kick sensibly and pin us down
in our own 22. We did look dangerous with the ball in the
backs, but the final pass all too often went astray.
Enough said. A win's a win.
