It's imperative that we maintain our 100% home record against
Selkirk on Saturday after taking our eye off the ball at
Hughenden last weekend.
The team are up for it - please come down to Invers and
show that you are, too.

Nosebag's
Notes

"Knock on - Selkirk ball ... "
Not really much to report from Saturday, apart
from a very quiet changing room as the horror of the previous
eighty minutes started to sink in. Macca's final statement
to the whole squad before warm-up was, "Selkirk never
give up - right to the final whistle, they will be fighting
for their lives".

And so, after 79 very long and agonising minutes
on Pitch 1, up stepped Selkirk's full back Fraser Harkness
to drop a goal and give the Borderers a well-deserved 14-12
victory.
We are a young side, but there are times when we have to
give the ball to the forwards and grind out victories. It
may not be pretty, but we would not find ourselves staring
down the barrel of becoming mid table also-rans, as will
be the case if we lose too many more games.

This week sees the red, black and gold machine
travel to Stirling to take on the league leaders. This may
prove to be the toughest test of the season, and we will
require a massive effort this week at training to get ready.

| Single Sentence Summary |
A day for stick-it-up-the-jumper, get-the-basics-right
rugby ... sadly, we went for flash-handling-moves, lose-the-ball-in-contact
and loads-of-knock-ons rugby instead |

It's telling that big Clarky didn't bother with a
Stew Mel MoTM when he made his speech in the clubhouse
after the game; but Jed Gordon
gets the web vote for a lively performance that saw
him put in some decent defence and could have resulted
in a couple of tries

| Bevvy Bulletin |
Nearly headed home straight after the final whistle,
thoroughly hacked off after watching us lose another
game we should have won ... but stuck around for a
couple of bottles of the house white, a couple of
sneaky Stew Mel cocktails and a lengthy game of Three
Card Brag
