The team shows just one change from last weekend, with
the now departed Mike Elliott being replaced on the left
wing by Peter McLean. Simon Capaldi is fit to resume in
the squad.
Kelso have come on a fair bit since we put 66 points past
them at the start of the season, and this will be no easy
fixture; your support would be very much appreciated.
Riggers'
Review

A good day at Inverleith yesterday, with a
bonus point win returning us to second place in the league
table ahead of Jed-Forest. With the 2nd XV winning down
at Melrose, the club was certainly in good spirits last
night. It will not go down as one of our best performances,
but the boys did what was required of them and kept at bay
a stuffy young Kelso side who certainly gave us more problems
yesterday than was comfortable. If we could attack with
the same energy as we defend, then we would not be far away
from clicking into gear again.

Yesterday saw us play with the full complement of players
in a league game for the first time since 27th September,
when we drew 20-20 with Haddington. Ironically, Davy Dodds
was the referee that day, too, so he must be happier than
most refs with how we play the game!
We have two more vital league games to play before the
Christmas break, with Berwick coming to town this Saturday,
before we head over to Murrayfield for another local derby.
It would be good to get a bit of support for the team over
these games and help us finish 2004 on a high.

After the game next Saturday, the Christmas Karaoke will
be held in the clubhouse. It was a great night last year,
so hopefully this year will see more of the same.

Davy Dodds of Gala - anyone who cautions
Cliff Livingstone about his bad chat in the first five
minutes of a match is STILL OK with me. And he had a
pretty good game today, to boot. |
| Single Sentence Summary |
A strangely lacklustre performance against
a young Kelso side that battled hard throughout the
game - it was only late on that we started to move the
ball at pace and threatened to open them up as we did
in the corresponding away fixture |
| Leading Lion |
Pete McLean deserves immense praise for marking his
1st XV debut as a winger with two fine tries - his
second score, where he used both speed and strength
to barge over the line, was particularly good. But
let's go for Lindy
for scoring two vital tries, setting up Borth's try
with some great hands and doing a power of work when
the ball was on the deck.

Just the usual Carlsberg at Inverleith, thanks -
thankfully it was only Magners that Denise had run
