One of the two new(ish) faces introduced to the Stewart's
Melville starting line up this week is somebody who hasn't
featured for us since we beat Strathmore on 9th February
2002. Andrew Kelly, fresh from being involved in the Edinburgh
Gunners squad that defeated Toulouse last Sunday, gets the
opportunity of some game time and starts at hooker. Alex
Edmonstone drops down to the bench to accommodate him.
The other change is at Scrum Half, where Euan Clark has
picked up a knee injury and is replaced by Stuart Thom.
The other changes are positional, with Stuart Clark and
Nick Penny swapping places in the back and 2nd row. Graham
Lind moves to No. 8 to allow Nick onto the blindside flank.
Sandy Storrar has also picked up a knee injury, and is
replaced on the bench by Ben Leathes.
A vote of confidence has been given to the backs that were
on duty last weekend. Whilst not their best performance,
they still created enough opportunities to warrant another
go. We can only hope that a ruthless streak has been instilled
in them since last week and that they take their chances,
if and when they come.
With Haddington having leapfrogged us in the league after
their fine win over Gala last weekend, this is an important
game for the Lions, so please come down to Inverleith and
offer your support.
Riggers'
Review

Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is the return of the Stewart's
Melville team that was playing so well about a month ago.
I am quite willing to swop the hesitant and nervous team
we currently have for them.
Please can you also give the boys back the confidence
that has deserted them in the last couple of weeks and allow
them to go out and put teams to the sword like we used to.
Also, please, let us convert even half the chances that
we create.

Also, extra sticky rugby balls so we don't drop them as
often would be nice, too.
I know Christmas isn't until a week on Thursday, but, if
you could please deliver this in time for us to go to Grangemouth
next Saturday, I would be really, really grateful.

If you do this for me, I promise you'll see Macca, Benzo
and Allan crack a smile at Christmas.
Many thanks,
Gordon
