Just another
season?
Another season is underway and each age group
moves up. It is quite frightening to the see the players
progress from the Lion cubs to playing at Murrayfield in
the Scottish Cup as young adults.
However, the pleasing thought is that the
club continues to produce wonderfully talented players some
of whom will no doubt go on to play for Scotland at Murrayfield
as adults. The development of skills are key to the club
and we are proud that we produce highly skilled players.
Nonetheless, the club is also proud that we provide opportunities
for players of different skill levels. Most importantly,
we are providing chances for children to play who may not
get the opportunity to play rugby at school.
It is worth remembering that the success of
the club is down to volunteers who give of their time freely.
One person who stands out is Lindsay Hamilton. He is responsible
for planning and organising our tour to France in Feb 2003.
It is by far the most ambitious and exciting challenge that
the club has ever undertaken. His drive and enthusiasm is
an example to the children and the parents of the club.
It is a 'can-do' attitude that is born out of confidence
in our club and most of all the children who turn out every
Sunday.
This will not be just another season - the
parents, volunteers and the children will see to that!
