Hamilton Sevens: Report
On a wet, cold, windy day at Hamilton, we opened up the tournament with a comfortable 33-0 win against a host select side.
We then played last year’s winners – Boroughmuir – and were extremely unlucky to go down by 7-5. I think it would be fair to say that we dominated the game, with ‘Muir scoring from their one and only opportunity while we had two scores disallowed.
We then moved on to the Shield, and, with the weather at its worst, I am glad to say that we were beaten by East Kilbride by 14-5 and we could all go home!
Thanks to all the boys who made the effort to come through, and, specially, Seb Trotter for putting the side together. A special mention for our President, Colin Rigby, who had to travel to York on business at 4.30 am on Saturday morning and then drove to Hamilton for our first tie at 1 pm -great effort!
