Weekend Results

The club’s mid season dip continued on Saturday, with both 1st and 2nd XVs losing on the road.

The 1st XV put in a much more committed performance against Hillhead Jordanhill than they did against Hawick the previous week, but were pretty much nullified as an attacking threat by the pugnacious home defence.

Three first half penalties from Seb (restored to stand off in the absence of Mike Hanning) were offset by two penalties and two tries from the home side to give a half time score of 18-9.  We shipped another two tries and a penalty after the interval to make the final score 31-9 to our genial hosts.

The 2nd XV travelled to Bridgehaugh with 15 players and no replacements. While I don’t have any details about the game that ensued, the fact that they only lost by 29 points to nil must be regarded as something of an achievement under the circumstances.

The 1st XV head to Biggar this weekend for a Cup game, while the 2s travel to Glasgow to take on Hawks. Numbers permitting, the 3s will welcome Edinburgh Accies to Inverleith.
