This match will kick off at 3 pm at Inverleith, with free entry to all Lions players and their parents.

The 2s will head to the Borders to play Selkirk at Philiphaugh, again kicking off at 3 pm. Burge is still looking for players for this one, so please contact him on 07903945667 ASAP if you are able to play. The team bus will leave Inverleith at noon sharp – please assemble by 11.45 am if you’d like a lift.

Lastly, the Mighty Threes are due to play the Nails in a mouthwatering derby game at Goldenacre. We’ve negotiated an early (1 pm) kickoff for this one, to allow for Six Nations watching and (hopefully) Goldy gloatpints afterwards.

Graeme Mitchell is also on the lookout for players for this  game, so please let him know if you have got what it takes to turn out for the Dream Team.

Here’s some words of wisdom from Phil Waine regarding these fixtures, and tonight’s U20 game at Netherdale:

“Jed-Forest will provide us with a major challenge on Saturday – it will be like an international!  Low down in the league, they are fighting for their lives in National One and are coming off the back of an excellent win against Selkirk. They will come out all guns blazing and it is vital that we match – and better – their motivation on and off the field. This is our last home match of the season.  A good enough reason for wanting a win, but we also have to keep in mind that we are not altogether clear of the relegation zone! If you are not playing get down and support. Let’s outplay and outshout the Borderers.

“On Friday, Stew Mel player Phil Cringle starts at prop for Scotland U20s at Netherdale and Alex Hagart of SMC (presently studying in Aberdeen and playing for the Grammar) starts on the bench. We also congratulate school scrum-half, Andrew Manson, who was picked for the Scotland Under 18 team who played the Exiles. An even worthier achievement when one considers that Andrew is in Vth Form at school and will be eligible for this group again next season.”

As the great man says, please support the club this weekend, on either side of the whitewash.
