2nd XV Update

2nd XV Update

The 2nd XV game against Aberdeen Grammar didn’t go ahead on Saturday as we were unable to raise a team.

The 2s have one game left this season; this is against Stirling County this Saturday, kicking off at 3 pm.

With the posts down at Inverleith, the game will be played at Broughton High School.

We’re sitting in 11th place in the league,  with 39 points from the 19 games we have played. Currie, in 10th place, have 40 points from 22 games – and therefore don’t have any more games to play.

Two or more points from the game against County will, therefore, see us maintain our place in the top National Reserve League for next season.

It’s vital for the strength in depth of the club that the 2s stay in the top flight.

Burge and Dunc are beavering away behind the scenes to pull the strongest possible squad together for the Stirling game. All Stewart’s Melville supporters are urged to play their part by heading to Stockbridge on Saturday to cheers the 2s to victory – and survival.
